The training provided by Delaware Area Career Center will be a demanding course which you must pass all objectives required
by the State of Ohio, pass in-class testing to participate in the State Exam, which includes written tests and practical testing
skills. All of the Fire Instructors are well trained and active Firefighters. The Instructors range from Firefighters
to Fire Chiefs within Central Ohio. We utilize the Essentials of Firefighting 5th Edition book. The class also
includes the 16 hour Emergency Vehicle Driving Course, Live Fire Training, and prior to taking the State Exam, you will take
the Incident Command course (ICS100 and NIMS700) on-line. This class is the minimum requirement in the State of Ohio
for a Part-Time position as a firefighter.
Pre-requisites for admittance: 18 years old, a valid Drivers License, and a current Volunteer Firefighter Certificate.
You will need to provide Turn-Out Gear ( NFPA Compliant )
