About Our Program

The Delaware Area Career Center fire training is unique due to the fact that we utilize over 30 fire instructors. Each fire instructor specializes in different area's of training, from fire prevention to the application of foam, to live fire training. The instructor's are all firefighter's who work as full-time firefighter's and some who are volunteer's, even area fire chief's teach at our facility.

We work with the area fire departments very well and several previous students have been employed by these departments.

Our training grounds accomodate our needs and we feel that hands-on training is the best training available. Our classroom has new audio/visual equipment and we utilize the IFSTA Essentials Fifth Edition textbooks.

We have three fire engines, one rescue/engine, and one medic vehicle. Students enrolled in the Firefighter I & II course will receive their HazMat Awareness and Operations Certificate from the Ohio Fire Academy. Students will also receive a flashover recognition course, a 16 hour emergency vehicle driving course, and much more.
